no auto summary command with rip
Well if you are using Rip version 2 , which is classless routing protocol and can be used with VLSM , then we have to also write "no auto summary" command so that sub net masks using VLSM may not be confused by routers.

ICND1 - Retake
Hello! I took the ICND1 test a few weeks back and received a 587 out of 804. Honestly, I took the test early and I knew I did. In addition, I had been sick for the three days prior and hadn't studied in about a week. So, getting a 587 wasn't too bad in my opinion. Now that I'm ready to take it for real, I've been studying,…

PortFast?
Hey guys- Just doing some studying here and I came across PortFast. I understand that it reduces the time it takes for a port to go from BLOCKING to FORWARDING modes, but I see everywhere that is should only be used in a switch to workstation/server/host segment and not between two switches... why is this?

Failed today
Got 799, needed 804. The frustrating part was one of the "testlet" style questions that had 4 parts. I answered the first question, then hit NEXT, and it skipped the next 3 parts of that test let. I new it as soon as I hit NEXT that I probably cost myself the pass. Granted, I should have STILL known enough to pass, but I…

I think that…

Wireless Adapter for Labs?

Rebooting VTP devices
After reboot, my switches, client and server) retained their VLAN info (vlan.dat) and VTP configuration -- without copying run to start. Weird. ok. Just failed ICND2
As the title says, I just failed ICND2. I scored 734. This is my first exam fail, so it's extra lame. Does proficiency in PT or Gns3 helpful in CCENT / CCNA
Well if Cisco is not using PT or Gns3 in their exams but their own software for testing in simulations , so is it important to learn Gns3 or PT in depth.I know one has to learn these software for practicing and creating network topologies but still should we learn these software exclusively or just enough to do labs.
