I'm trying to re-enter IT after a being let go from the last IT job I had. That was 2 years ago. Since then I got the CCNA R&S and A+ certs. I've been applying to random Helpdesk jobs and mostly never hear back or I'm told they chose someone who has better qualifications. I think my past job history plus length of time…
I heard System Admin or Network Admin usually have a lot of downtime at work, is that true? I heard that usually one works about 3 hours out of 8 hours? What about NOC, does that have a lot of downtime? Also does NOC involve working alone unlike Sys/Network Admin who work at an open space where others can see you?
I've been working as a school district tier 1 building tech for almost two years. I'm a school year employee and techs don't get to spread their pay out over the summer like teachers. I will get the A+/Net+/Sec+ cert combo before I graduate. But Im worried that I will be one of those people who end up working at McDonalds when I graduate, I WANT to…
Anybody know any job boards that have a decent amount of telecommute desktop support jobs? Just something that I would like to explore. I've used a few boards but I can't find anything.
I accepted a job just under a year ago to work at one location of the company about 20-30 min from my house. Around two months ago they decided they needed a network resource at the HQ which is two hours from where I live and said they would need me to work there for just three days a week for a month just to get to know…
